“It’s speed-dating for super fans of the comic, pop-culture and movie world,” said Ryan Glitch, the organizer of Sci-Fi Speed Dating, a match-making event that runs throughout this weekend at the comic convention and travels to other such festivals throughout North America. On the second day of Fan Expo Canada, these young hopefuls sat in an otherwise muted-feeling conference room at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, hoping to find their Han Solo to Princess Leia.
